TRINGALWADI FORT

A little about Tringalwadi Fort
Hidden amidst the Igatpuri region, Tringalwadi is a small fort that still manages to attract trekkers and adventure lovers. Strong yet ruined, Tringalwadi Fort has a unique entrance door and natural fortification. Constructed in the 10th century, there is a small cave at the base of the fort dedicated to first Jain Tirthankara.
Walk across lush green grass mats and paddy fields to conquer the peak that resembles an elephant's head. A weekend spent in discovering historical ruins and unveiling stories, gives a kick-start to boring weekdays.
Story Behind the Caves & Fort -
It is highly believed that first Jain Tirthankar Adinathji meditated here at Tringalwadi.
Also, said that Tringalwadi was surrendered by Shahji Raje to the Mughals after battleof Mahuli. Many believe Pandavas resided in the caves, hence the name Pandavleni arrived.
